It has been years of work, but it appears that Florida Airport Management (FAM) is now within a hair’s breadth of officially taking over operation of the Avon Park Executive Airport. At their meeting Monday night, the council gave Mayor Garrett Anderson approval to execute the lease and sign all the necessary paperwork.
That’s expected to happen at the closing of the deal this coming Friday.
