There’s a great new murder mystery – and it happens right here in Polk County. But don’t go looking for Lakeland’s Sun Gate Retirement Community, because it doesn’t exist (at least under that name.)
“I have had numerous people ask me if this was based on their park,” said American Artist & Author Kris Courtney. “They tell me ‘We have people just like that living here.'”
In the short version of our story, the main character, widower Stewart Johnson, retires and moves into a gated Florida retirement community. He quickly becomes adopted by his pushy neighbor, Suzy and introduced to a colorful group of residents who act like college students on an endless spring break. One can’t help laughing as Stewart is drawn into the outrageous shenanigans that defy the community’s published rules and regulations.
